Greetings!
For over a year clinicians, engineers, scientists and designers of UPM and UPD have worked tirelessly to build devices needed to fight COVID-19. These women and men have delivered in spite of the challenges of lockdowns and the personal dangers of the pandemic.
We hope that these initial efforts serve as seed for something that will last beyond the pandemic. There is an urgency to sustain this momentum of innovation and disruption needed to solve the perennial problems of local healthcare.
This coming September, we mark a milestone in the local biomedical field with the UP Surgical Innovation & Biotechnology (UP SIBOL) program. UP SIBOL aims to become a lasting pillar of local innovation of medical devices adapted to the needs of our people. It embodies the mantra, designed by the Filipino for the Filipino.
