AMELIA R. FERNANDEZ, MD (UPCM DEAN 1994-1997)

Dr. Amelia R. Fernandez, a renowned pediatrician, carried on the torch of change and development in the College that was ignited in the early 1990’s. She served as the Dean of the UP College of Medicine from 1994 to 1997, and during her term, the Multidisciplinary Laboratory (MDL) was completed in Paz Mendoza Hall. An institutional Bioethics Committee was established, integrating knowledge on bioethics into the current medical curriculum of the College.
