ALBERTO B. ROXAS, MD (UPCM DEAN 2006-2012)

Dr. Alberto B. Roxas is a distinguished general and colorectal surgeon who served as the Dean of the UP College of Medicine from 2006 to 2012. During his term as Dean, a 25-year master plan called STAR (Self-sufficiency, Talent, Technology and Tolerance, Academic Excellence, and Responsiveness) Vision 2032 was included in the Management Action Plan. This master plan listed all the long- and short-term goals and the general trajectory of the College for the next 25 years in order to guide future administrators and leaders. The return service obligation (RSO) was officially implemented for the first time starting academic year 2009-2010, also during Dr. Roxas’ term as Dean.
