ANTONIO VAZQUEZ, MD

Dr. Antonio Vazquez was an orthopedic surgeon who headed the orthopedic service when it was created as early as 1924, under the Department of Surgery of the Philippine General Hospital. Dr. Vazquez frequently gave lectures in orthopedics, before being sent abroad to study thoracic surgery. He subsequently brought back with him the first thoracoscope in the country.
