The Virtual Museum:
A Glimpse of the Storied History of UPCM

CONDRADO LORENZO, JR., MD (UPM CHANCELLOR 1984-198

Dr. Clipper Lorenzo graduated from UPCM in 1960 and finished residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Pennsylvania. He took a fellowship in Fertility and Sterility at Brigham and Women’s Hospital of Harvard Medical School. He later became a consultant at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the UPCM, Makati Medical Center and at Manila Doctors’ Hospital.  He became the Executive Director of the Philippine Commission on Population in 1971 and President of the Population Center Foundation, both organizations were most active in the planning and implementation family planning and population programs. He was Chancellor of UP Manila from 1984 to 1988. He was also very active in other organizations such as the Philippine Cancer Society where he was President and Board of Trustees member.
