The Tracker for the Research Opportunities Database (TROD) is an online, real-time platform that centralizes and streamlines research opportunities across the departments of the University of the Philippines College of Medicine (UPCM). Created and managed by student volunteers (called the Technical Working Group or TWG) from the UP Medicine Student Council (UP MSC) and the UP Medical Students for Social Responsibility (UP MSSR), and developed with the oversight of the Research Implementation Development Office (RIDO), the tracker serves as a structured gateway for student involvement in mentor-led research.
TROD compiles a comprehensive and regularly updated list of research mentors and projects who are actively open to collaborating with students—whether through short-term writing engagements, conceptual input, or full-scale project implementation as research assistants. By connecting interested students with faculty-led projects across various fields and departments, TROD aims to cultivate a more inclusive, transparent, and research-oriented academic environment within UPCM.
