UPCM Dean Charlotte M. Chiong stressed the importance of integration within academic health care institutions in her plenary lecture at the Alliance of Academic Health Centers International (AAHCI) Southeast Asia Regional Meeting held at the Faculty of Medicine Universiti Malaya in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on February 17-18, 2025. The AAHCI provides a platform for various health science professional schools to network, exchange knowledge and jointly advocate on various academic health issues covering education, research and training. The theme for the biannual regional conference is Future Proofing Healthcare in Southeast Asia is very timely as the region rebuilds its health systems in the wake of the pandemic and recent headwinds in the global health situation. Dean Chiong was joined by Dr. Ma. Antonia Habana, Special Assistant to the Dean and Dr. Carlo Irwin Panelo of the UPCM Department of Clinical Epidemiology.
