Dr. Ricardo A. Fernandez was a distinguished radiologist who was appointed as the first PGH Radiology Department Head in the year 1918. In addition to this, he also taught in both the University of Santo Thomas and the University of the Philippines while also contributing various research in his respective field, mirroring the heavy focus on research of the Department of Radiology.
